Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Carrados Limited (we, us) handles when you use Pose (the Software), buy a licence from us, or visit canopener.app. We are the controller of that data under UK and EU data protection law.
The short version
We do not want your personal data. The Software works on your Mac and does not collect, log or send what you do with it. We do not track you, build profiles, show ads, or sell or share data with anyone for their own use. The few exceptions are listed below, and each one is the minimum needed to sell, deliver and fix the Software.
What the Software sends
Your pose files, the apps you shoot, your demo data and the pictures the Software takes stay on your Mac. The Software never uploads a screenshot, and nothing in it talks to an AI model. If you copy the agent instructions into a coding agent, what that agent does is between you and its provider. The Software contacts the internet only for these things:
-
Crash and error reports. When the Software crashes or hits a serious error, it
sends a report to Sentry, our crash reporting service, in its EU data region. A report holds
technical details: the Software's version, the macOS version, the Mac model and the state of
the code at the time. An error message may name a file path, such as the pose file or a save
folder. Before it is sent, the Software replaces your home folder in every path with
~, which removes your account name. It never adds your name, email address, screenshots or the contents of your files, and Sentry is set not to store IP addresses. - Update checks. The Software asks our update server for news of a new version. The request carries the Software's version and nothing about you.
- Licence activation. When you enter a licence key, the Software sends the key and a random identifier, made on your Mac for this purpose only, to our licence server. We keep the identifier with the key so that we can count how many Macs use it. It does not identify you or your Mac outside the Software. Deactivating a Mac removes it.
Like every server, the update and licence servers see your IP address when you connect. Our hosting provider keeps it in short-lived logs for security and to keep the service running.
When you buy a licence
Payment is handled by Stripe, under Stripe's own privacy policy. We never see your full card details. Stripe gives us your name, email address, country and what you bought. We use them to send your licence key, resend it if you lose it, answer you, handle refunds, and keep the records that tax law requires.
If you email us, we use your message and address to reply. We use the email address you buy with only to send your licence key, answer you and handle refunds. Those emails go through Resend, our email delivery service. If we ask you to opt in to email news about the Software and you say yes, we keep your address for that purpose too, until you unsubscribe. Every such email lets you unsubscribe in one step.
Our website
canopener.app uses Umami to count visits. Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and gives us only totals, such as how many people visited a page and from which country. The website sets no cookies of its own.
Why we are allowed to use your data
- To sell, deliver and activate your licence, and to support you: because we need to, to carry out our contract with you.
- Tax and accounting records: because the law requires them.
- Email news you opted in to: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing.
- Crash reports and website totals: our legitimate interest in making the Software work and keeping it secure. You can object at any time.
Who else handles it
Only the services named above, each acting on our instructions to do one job: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), bunny.net (website, downloads and licence server), Sentry (crash reports), Umami (website totals) and our email provider (support email). Some of them are in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or the EU, it is protected by the safeguards the law requires, such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision. We may also share data where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
- Purchase records: six years after the purchase, as UK tax law requires.
- Licence keys and activation identifiers: for as long as the licence exists.
- Your address for email news: until you unsubscribe.
- Support emails: one year after the last message. We keep them longer only where we need them to provide a service or settle a matter, such as a dispute about a licence, and only for as long as that takes.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict or stop using it, or send it to you in a portable format. Email support@canopener.app. We will reply within one month. We may keep records the law requires us to keep. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change means we collect more than this page says, we will tell you before it happens.
