Pose

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms govern your download, installation and use of Pose (the Software), a macOS application published by Carrados Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom (we, us, our). By downloading, installing or using the Software you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.

Pose

The Software is free to try for seven days from its first launch. After that, running screenshots needs a paid licence; opening, editing and checking pose files keeps working. You are not charged automatically when the trial ends.

The Software requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later.

With your permission, the Software uses Screen Recording and Accessibility to launch the apps named in your pose files, move the pointer, click, type and capture the screen. While it runs, do not use the Mac: anything on screen can end up in a picture. If you turn on Switch Mac Appearance, it switches your Mac between light and dark and back again. Pictures are saved only to the folders your pose files name, and stay on your Mac.

Your licence

We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software on Macs that you own or control, for your own personal or internal business use, on the terms above and below.

We license the Software to you. We do not sell it to you. We and our licensors keep all intellectual property rights in the Software. Nothing in these terms transfers any of those rights to you.

A paid licence is perpetual for the versions it covers: it does not expire, and those versions keep working.

The Software, including its code, design, icons, documentation and website, is the copyright of Carrados Limited. All rights reserved. The only exception is the open source components listed under Acknowledgements, which belong to their own authors.

What you may not do

You must not:

Price, payment and refunds

The price is shown on our website at the time of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details. Prices may exclude VAT or sales tax, which is added at checkout where it applies.

We offer a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, no questions asked. Email support@canopener.app from the address you used to buy, and we will refund the payment to the original payment method. Your licence ends when the refund is issued. This offer is in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights (see Rights we cannot exclude).

Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A refund is faster for both of us.

Updates and support

We may release updates at our discretion, but we are under no obligation to release any update, fix or new version. Unless the terms above say otherwise, a paid licence includes every version of the major release that is current when you first activate it: a licence first activated while 1.4 is the latest version, for example, includes every 1.x version, but not 2.0 or later. The versions it includes keep working, but newer major versions are not included.

We provide support by email on a best-efforts basis. We do not guarantee any response time, or that we can resolve any particular problem.

We may change, add to or remove features, and we may discontinue the Software. We are not obliged to keep it compatible with future versions of macOS or of any other application, or with any particular hardware.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Third-party software

The Software works with other applications. Those applications are not ours. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for their behaviour, quality, security or licence terms, or for anything they do.

The Software is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc. or any other vendor named in the Software or on our website. Trade marks belong to their respective owners. Open source components in the Software are used under their own licences, listed under Acknowledgements, which prevail over these terms for those components.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, and subject to Rights we cannot exclude, the Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty, condition or representation of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory. In particular, we do not warrant that:

Limitation of liability

Please read this clause carefully. It limits what we are liable for. It is subject in every respect to Rights we cannot exclude.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable to you for:

This applies whether the claim is in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, restitution or otherwise, and whether or not we were told the loss was possible.

Our total liability to you, for all claims together, is limited to the amount you actually paid us for your licence in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you have paid us nothing, it is limited to £10 (ten pounds sterling).

If you use the Software for your trade, business, craft or profession, Rights we cannot exclude applies to you only for death or personal injury caused by our negligence and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and all implied terms, conditions and warranties are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. You agree that these limits are reasonable given the price of the Software and the chance to try it before you pay.

Rights we cannot exclude

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights that these terms do not affect. In the United Kingdom these include your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that the Software be of satisfactory quality, fit for a purpose you made known to us, and as described, and your right under section 46 of that Act to a repair or compensation if the Software damages your device or your other digital content and we have not exercised reasonable care and skill. You also have cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. Consumers in the European Union and elsewhere have equivalent rights under their own law.

Where these terms conflict with a right you have that cannot be excluded, that right wins and the conflicting wording does not apply to you.

Privacy

What the Software reads on your Mac stays on your Mac, unless the terms above say otherwise. The Software contacts our update server to check for new versions, and may send anonymous crash reports so that we can fix bugs. Payment is handled by Stripe under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy. We use the email address you buy with only to send your licence key, answer you, and handle refunds.

Termination

Your licence continues until terminated. You may stop using the Software and uninstall it at any time. We may terminate your licence immediately if you materially breach these terms, in particular What you may not do, or if you obtain a refund or raise a chargeback for your purchase. On termination you must stop using the paid features of the Software. The sections No warranty, Limitation of liability, Rights we cannot exclude, General and Governing law survive termination.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example to reflect changes to the Software or to the law. The version in force for your purchase is the one published on this page when you bought your licence. We publish updates here with a new "last updated" date. If you keep using the Software after an update, you accept the updated terms, except that we will not apply a change retroactively to reduce rights you already have under a licence you have paid for.

General

Severability. If any provision of these terms is found unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, it is severed and the rest continues in full force. Where a provision can be made enforceable by narrowing it, it applies as narrowed.

No waiver. If we do not enforce a right under these terms, we have not waived it.

Entire agreement. These terms are the entire agreement between us about the Software, and replace any earlier agreement or understanding. Nothing in this paragraph limits liability for fraudulent misrepresentation.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer your rights under these terms. We may assign ours, for example if the Software is sold, provided this does not reduce your rights.

Third parties. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

Export. You must comply with all applicable export control and sanctions laws.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them. If you are a consumer living elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country, and may bring proceedings in its courts.

Additional IP Rights Grant (Patents)
------------------------------------

"These implementations" means the copyrightable works that implement the WebM
codecs distributed by Google as part of the WebM Project.

Google hereby grants to you a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge,
royalty-free, irrevocable (except as stated in this section) patent license to
make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, transfer, and otherwise
run, modify and propagate the contents of these implementations of WebM, where
such license applies only to those patent claims, both currently owned by
Google and acquired in the future, licensable by Google that are necessarily
infringed by these implementations of WebM. This grant does not include claims
that would be infringed only as a consequence of further modification of these
implementations. If you or your agent or exclusive licensee institute or order
or agree to the institution of patent litigation or any other patent
enforcement activity against any entity (including a cross-claim or
counterclaim in a lawsuit) alleging that any of these implementations of WebM
or any code incorporated within any of these implementations of WebM
constitute direct or contributory patent infringement, or inducement of
patent infringement, then any patent rights granted to you under this License
for these implementations of WebM shall terminate as of the date such
litigation is filed.

We are grateful to the people and organisations behind these projects for sharing such powerful tools so openly.
